I will be there depending on work/university situation. Lost the old job and enrolled in some classes keeping the earlier stated week available. If hired at a tentative new job later this month, though, may be unable to attend. :( I will ask for the week off, though, and see what he says.

Thank-you, friends, for stating your plans.  Do make sure that you do not make any unnecessary sacrifices to attend the retreat, which could undermine your subsistence.

Hi all. I'm not sure I will be able to make it in a month, but I am in the process of figuring that out. The problem basically being financial and logistical reasons, and the large distance I have to travel. It is so far for me. But I will figure it out soon.

While it would be very nice to have your presence again at one of our retreats, Zack; nonetheless, it will not further anyone to cause suffering to attend any retreat.

I'm not seeing much possibility of traveling at the moment. It is truly a hellish existence trying to live in this world, and I can't lose the little bit of momentum I've built towards buying a camper, or trailer, or plywood lean-to or whatever the hell will afford me a little breathing space from the human insanity.

I probably will be more mobile at a later date. Until then, peace!

Yes, I agree, Zack, if you can improve your subsistence to help you as a contemplative, by not coming to any of our retreats, then I believe you should do so.  I do look forward to your ability to freely join us in the future.

The time is coming quite soon that I will have to remain in elder hostel/hospice while these retreats may continue to go on, because my health continues to decline.  It is likely that GWV members will camp somewhere nearby, and come to the elder hostel/hospice for a few sessions of meditation and/or dialog each day, then return at night to camp in the forest.  After all, at this time I am just food for a predator anyway.

If this is the date: July 4-8, I will make plans to come.

Looking forward to it.

It is any time between the 1st and the 14th, so good to know that you are coming.  I hope your wife comes, because I enjoyed talking with her briefly last time, and look forward to hear more of what she has to say.

Got it. Yes, of course, I'll bring my wife. She found your advice to be useful. She's starting to meditate more so I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes for her.

So sorry to hear about your health condition declining further, Jhananda. I hope things do improve for you and I will also provide more frequent financial assistance to you from now on since I have just got a job again recently.

Btw, regarding the upcoming retreat, would it be possible for you or some attendant to film the discussions and then post it on Youtube? I have found your videos filmed in previous retreats quite helpful.

Hello, friends, I look forward to meditation and dialog with all of those who are coming.  My health has been up and down, yo-yo-like since I was a teenager, and it only gets more down, and less up, as this body ages, and the effort needed to survive.

This week my van had a down turn in health as well, which required me to sweat bullets on repairing it for 6 days.  It is now running again; however, the consequence of the effort has been a down turn in my health for the last 3 days, but there is noticeable improvement every day with rest, and energy is almost back to normal.  However, do keep in mind that I might be bed-ridden, 0r hobbling around on crutches during the retreat.

I do have video equipment, and my goal has been to video all of the dialogs at the GWV retreats; however, most of our best dialogs tend to happen during meal preparation and eating, which does not make for good videography.

I recently discovered the primary cause of the demise of most of my previous laptops was due to the use of digital inverters, verses true sine inverters, which are more expensive.  Note: I need to use an inverter for power to convert solar generated DC to A/C to run my laptops, and doing so I found it is cooking the power supplies of my laptops.  So until a true sine inverter is acquired, then my access to the internet, and videography will have to be limited.

I did do some shopping for a true sine inverter and found that they have come down in price recently and found two reasonably priced 1000W inverters for under $150.  I do not have that money, but when I can save it up, then the purchase will be at the top of the shopping list.  Please click the link above, if you are interested in purchasing one for yourself, or plan to contribute to its purchase for the GWV.

This summer's GWV meditation retreat will be held in the Prescott National Forest between July 1-14.  A campsite has not yet been located, but I plan to search and locate one with the first people to arrive on or before July 1st.  It might take a few days of searching until we find one that suits us all best.

The temperatures have been between 60s(f) for a low and 90s(f) for a high.  We plan to camp in a wooded area at, or as close to, 7,000ft of elevation to reduce the temperature effect.  It should be fairly pleasant at night with it being a little warm during the day.

Do bring camping gear, if you have any.  If you need camping gear, then please let me know what and when.  I have spare tents, sleeping bags, and mess kits.  This winter I bought several mess kits at local thrift stores, so I expect to have as many as will be needed.

Please let me know your arrival and departure times so that we can arrange to meet you, and/or pick you up at our mutual convenience.

I will be able to make another small donation to you in about 2 weeks time. So please do bear with me in the mean time.  :)
