Meeting the Sangha?
« on: August 26, 2018, 09:54:10 AM »
Hello dear all,

Have anyone of you become a Sangha or met Sangha member? I do not mean by that a contemplative or serious practitioner. I wanted to know about real Sangha guys, so those rare individuals that reached fruition. So the very best indicators I have found are binding of truth, expanding mind=mind reading intensions etc. . I think you know what I mean.

By the way - I do not count Gotrabhu as a Sangha because it is not working with them this way, so it is a state somewhere in between. Sangha person will recognise when Gotrabhu is lying and so on, but the binding is not so strong. This is also interesting, because if you suspect or already know an individual became mature, reached jhana and is Gotrabhu, whenever this individual reaches fruition of the path the Sangha people will know it dwelling together.
I can tell you that I found one single Gotrabhu in my country, now living abroad. I think there are many more - I just do not have access to them.

The reason why I ask this question is that it seems in my country there are no such individuals. However usually meeting them is the biggest shock and pleasure of the lifetime as I found very few from abroad. The strong jhanic mind bumps into you as a force field and you cannot hide your thoughts. So the presence of the Sangha is comparable to the shock when you realise what is mind and what is its true nature, how does the mind look like.

My conclusion is that there are areas/countries where Sangha is non-existent and as a very beneficial for the practices is worth tracking.

We function as a sanga here; and we go by a quote from the Christian Gospels, which is, "we know a tree by its fruit."  We find here that those who learn to meditate deeply on a consistent basis will be relatively free of addictive behavior, as well as manifest other fruit of the contemplative life.   This is why this forum goes by that name.  However, we have found little evidence of people manifesting the fruit of the contemplative life.  Wherever we do, we document it here.

I understand the 'idea', but by definition we simply cannot. This ' remote ' without , in many cases, personal contact is not facilitating. That is why I deliberately started this topic to see how it goes. I know that many of you have noticed that most of the people who are said to do something in fact do nothing. That is why I said there is no Sangha within my country according to my knowledge.

Again yes and now. What I mean - I also thought I meditate deeply. But when you meet such individual then you know what you do is a joke. Kindergarden. Even if it is 3rd jhana or 5th jhana or whichever. There is something much stronger behind. That it why this [topic] is so important. Previously I made a topic on 'living Arahats'  - but it is the same as on the forum; I can feel but I cannot say for sure.

On the technical side - the Sangha has no doubt about the teachings; here there is so much discussion about definitions etc. that even I doubt what is correct.

If you examine the history of mystic, then you will find most of them were marginalized by the priesthood of the dominant religion of the day.  It has become clear here that of those who find the deep meditation experience they generally find it on their own, and they most often have very high IQs, as shown in one of the threads here on the subject.

Also, by examining the history of mystics they very often times have only a few disciples.  My reasoning for that is there are very few people who have sufficient IQ to meditate deeply, and those people are thinly spread across the Earth, as we see in our membership.  Consequently we are in a rather excellent position on this forum to develop a world-wide sangha of those who actually meditate deeply.

Yes, it would be nice if we can come together from time to time to meditate and dialog together.  For the past 8 years my health had been too poor to lead a meditation sit, so the retreats that we had were more about us getting together as a community, and engaging dialog.

However, my health has so improved since last winter, when I nearly died from a fungal infection in my lunges, that it might be indeed a good opportunity to organize another retreat.
