I do not believe that SPAMers care much where they dump their garbage.  They seem to be interested in just getting their SPAM messages broadcast as widely as possible.

SPAM is a threat to freedom of speech, and obstruction of our freedom of religion.  If the people are serious about freedom of speech and freedom of religion, then they will figure out a way to eliminate SPAM and SPAMers without eroding personal freedom.

I just found out that the GWV forums are no longer being searched by the Google search engine.  The reason why the GWV forums are no longer being searched by the Google search engine is because when a member joins one of our forums they are sent an email from the forum welcoming them to the forum.  However, SPAM engines use false email addresses, which means the GWV forums are sending large volumes of bouncing messages out to the WWW, which has caused the Google search engine to stop searching the GWV forums.

Therefore it is clear that SPAM is a threat to freedom of speech, and an obstruction of our freedom of religion.  If people are serious about freedom of speech and freedom of religion, then they will figure out a way to eliminate SPAM and SPAMers without eroding personal freedom.  My solution to the loss of freedom of speech and freedom of religious expression is to suggest that a war begin against SPAM and SPAMers.  This means it is open season on SPAMMers.  Every SPAMMers that is killed is one less obstacle to personal freedom, freedom of speech and freedom of religious expression.  Go get em.

The problem is these articles are from 2003, and nothing has improved. I suggest public burning or impalement will reduce SPAM.

Sorry, folks, about the sudden SPAM fest.  I tried a new feature of the forum software, which allowed me to moderate all new members, which seemed like a good idea.  Well, within an hour I had hundreds of SPAM messages to moderate, and no message from genuine seekers, so I turned it off, which dumped the SPAM onto the public area of the forum.  It might take me a few hours to purge the SPAM off the system.

Are the designers of Small Machines Forum software completely clueless regarding the seriousness of SPAM?  Apparently so. 

I am back to supporting the idea of public mutilation for all SPAMMers.

This forum was recently brought down again due to the flood of SPAM. If there is any further trouble with SPAM, then I am seriously considering deleting all newbie members here.  My reasoning is: most of the membership is most probably just SPAM engines; and there is no reason to be a member here if one does not post, because the forum is otherwise available for anyone to read through.  So, if you do not wish your membership here deleted, then I urge you to request an upgrade of your membership here to vetted.

Please voice your opinion if you have one.

Please note: Hackers are not SPAMmers.  Hackers are interested in security breaches, which SPAMmers use to proliferate their SPAM.  So, knowing a security breach means that breach can be eliminated; therefore, Hackers are a useful means of eliminating SPAM.

Thanks, Cal, managing two forums has been a great deal of difficulty due to SPAMmer.  Fortunately, Sam does most of the management on this forum.  He deleted all of the un-vetted members in an effort to eradicate SPAM.  it seems to have worked, because the forum is still up and running.

I have learned that just because we do not receive any SPAM posted to the forum does not mean that SPAMmers are not joining the forum just so that they can use the forum's email system to send SPAM out, which is why the forum went down last fall. So, we just have to make it very difficult for the SPAMmer.  Doing so, unfortunately means making it very difficult for new members to join this forum.  So, we can than the SPAMmers for that.

Due to ongoing SPAM engines joining this forum and using its mail system to send SPAM out from this forum, I have disabled registration.  The only way now to join this forum is to ask.
