If we want to be charitable to the Gospel writers (or some of the early writers of Buddhism), we can conclude they included these “miracle” stories to try to explain Christ (or the Buddha’s) nature to the uninitiated

I have not reached non-material domains that is true, 4th Jhana when I was doing mirror work, mainly very regularly 3rd now.  Horse is my terrestrial aspect that's true, Dinosaur my Goddess aspect.  Thanks Alex!

   Yes Arahat and Non-returner I understand are very different.  Arahat like Ramakrishna being always in 5th Jhana and never feeling pain or the physical.  Agreed.
