The headless saints

I found these images online and wanted to share them. I feel they communicate a great truth about the inner life: that one must "lose to find, and die to live." The images are of (the Christian) St Denis and of (the Indian goddess) Chhinnamasta. Both sets communicate the idea that enlightenment is achieved through self-annihilation.
