Thank-you, Stu, for the link.  Sadly I did not notice anything about the 8 stages of deep meditation.  It is too bad that so very few of the famous meditation teacher meditate deeply.  In fact it seems like none of them do.  Why is that?
There is no progress without discipline.

When people think they know something - no searching is needed.  I do not know anything so I meditate on the jhanas -  I continue with periods of equanimity as well  as periods of the darknight.  I go with all.  Stu

Well-said, Stu. Thank you for gently reminding me. I've been recently told that I've begun to speak with a lot of conviction and confidence--I couldn't tell how I felt about that. The conscience was cautious when it heard this, and a whisper of the intellect was pleased.

All,  If you have not read some comments on the Atlantic article on Meditation and Mindfullness, you might be interested in them - varied - strange - and while I know where they are coming from, I .  have no idea where they are going.  Stu Varanasi, India

Hi,  Varanasi wonderful for meditation, yoga, accupressure as well as Indian classical music - and inexpensive - spending less money that I would in south western NM.  I go to rest early at night and sleep and meditation until morning.  Stu
