Minerals in Kelp & Seaweed
Quote from: Dr. Gillian McKeith’s Living Food for Health.
Seaweed and kelp, forms of marine algae that grow in the upper reaches of the ocean, where sunlight can penetrate, contain more minerals than any other food source.

An important part of the diet of many people living in coastal regions -- particularly in Asia -- these nutritious sea vegetables grow in mineral-rich seawater that constantly replenishes their content of vital micronutrients.
Quote from: Lawrence Wilson, M.D.
Kelp, which is widely available in supplement form, is a rich source of trace minerals such as chromium, manganese and zinc, according to Lawrence Wilson, M.D., founder of the Center for Development. It also contains high amounts of ultra-trace minerals such as germanium, iridium and rubidium. Other important trace minerals in kelp include calcium, iron and magnesium along with lesser amounts of selenium and zinc; kelp’s copper content is relatively low.

I was recently recommended a toothpaste by my friend who is studying dentistry. This toothpaste had 5 times the normal amount of fluoride in it. After a month of use i began feeling ill, with sore bones, low energy, memory loss and was not recovering from wounds.

I found out that fluoride counteracts iodine: http://fluoridealert.org/studies/thyroid01/

And the importance of sea vegetables such as seaweed in a diet. The Australian diet is also lacking in iodine as the milk does not contain iodine, the fish and eggs have very little and iodised salt is not a reliable source as there is an unknown amount. Australia also fluoridates the water which may result in iodine deficiency and lead to thyroid problems as seen in the video below.

Fluoride cause among other things, the calcification of arteries when ingested.

The majority of the seafood contains iodine to some extent.

The guy in the video is a vegan advocate and very militant about it. So, I wouldn't put much stock in what he says as he is bias.

Turmeric and curcumin extract are effective in controlling fluoride buildup in various parts of the body, especially the brain and heart.

Here is good article from a site that I trust: http://www.greenmedinfo.com/blog/spice-prevents-fluoride-destroying-your-brain
