Teresa of Avila
« on: September 03, 2019, 12:55:33 AM »
Hello friends,

Please give this series a watch as I have found it very inspirational and ringing true to my own contemplative life. I am only getting to episode 3 now. But episode 2 struck my mind and heart so deeply that i needed to post about it.

Thank-you, Rougeleader, for posting the links to movies depicting Teresa of Avila.  I enjoyed watching the first episode quite a bit.  I look forward to seeing the rest of the series.

I am a big fan of hers, as well. :) I have been reading The Inner Castle this year. It is interesting because the more you progress in the inner life, and the more learned you become on mysticism, the more the book opens up to you (I remember ~10 years ago when it was very abstract and inaccessible to me). I definitely think Teresa is on par with the Buddha, for sure.

Thank you for taking the time out to watch these videos. I really appreciate it.

I completely agree Alexander that the further we grow spiritually, the more sense these expressions from othet mystics make sense. I could not even relate to much of what she said years ago when I first invistagated her, but recently i was drawn to by chance through my study of human history. I got to the Spanish Inquisition and thought i should have another look. I agree, she has a tremendous depth of understanding about the contemplative life and the fruits. I hope the series does a good job representing it, i still have not had a minute to go further because of the subtitles.
