Yes, 40 years ago, I used what we know of as jhana here in a healing practice. It did not pay the bills well, so I got a job instead. People prefer mystery and ascribe mystery to Indians and Asians, but not to fellow western contemplatives.

Was there an article on how jhana contributed to healing effects? I've noticed that when I went into jhana while helping my dad with his back, his ache subsided for a while. I'd be interested to know more about how we can use it in a healing practice, since my own career also revolves around healing others.

There has been some discussion of starting a healing modality that is based upon jhana attainment, but there is no video on it yet. Basically to use jhana in healing you learn some healing technique, let us say massage therapy, or acupuncture, then you learn to enter jhana while applying the healing technique. Also, the deeper one goes the more effective the healing. It is that simple. I did this in my body work practice decades ago, and my clients all expressed they found significant improvement in their health from my method.
