I don't understand the significance. Is it that we as humans can get sustenance without flesh? Or that the consumption of enables "wrong"? People did not begin life with the capabilities of compacting soy into a burger, and then flavoring it to mock. As a species we are natural predators. Is it in the choice? Confused, I dun get it.

I was vegan, which is more than vegetarian, for 37 years. It led to diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. So, I cannot advocate for vegetarianism; however, I believe diet is a personal choice. We should just eat what we believe is good for us. But, I would recommend that eating eggs and cheese are bare essentials for the human diet, so I cannot recommend veganism.
Nonetheless, as an Anthropologist, I have to agree with you, humans evolved as hunter/gatherers omnivorous predators.
Since this is about diet, then I moved it to the health and fitness thread.
