About 50 years ago when I took up a dedicated contemplative life I gave away my TV and radio and started listening to spiritual music. I found doing so helped change my moment to moment mental landscape. Now, 50 years later I find myself listening to some contemporary Christian music. I have been listening to found Jireh | Elevation Worship & Maverick City (https://youtu.be/mC-zw0zCCtg) and find it particularly inspiring.

Giving up TV and mainstream radio is a great thing!
I never used to listen to Christian music, but a few years ago while I was driving a rental car far away from home, I accidentally heard a cool song on a Christian radio station and it started from there.

Yes, I agree, unplugging from media was one of the best things I ever did for my contemplative life.

Yes, I avoided Christian radio like the plague because Christianity as it has been known since the second Naicean Counsel has been seriously naive, and dogmatic. However, I volunteered in the Prescott Salvation Army kitchen for a few years and the kitchen manager used to play Christian radio the whole time, which is when I happily discovered that contemporary Christian music has matured significantly in the last decade or so.
Then I developed COPD and was stuck in my motor home on an air purifier almost 24/7 which just about made me crazy until a friend gave me a radio. Then I started listening to NPR and Christian radio and developed an appreciation for some of the music.
