This might be old news and redundant to most of you but I did find it remarkably GWV-compatible so you might enjoy it the way I did.

What I have in mind is:
From 4:14:
1) surrender - "if im losing my mind there is nothing I can do about it" and "as soon as I released the pleasurable sensations began" followed by
2) the jhanas (including emphasis on bliss) and the luminous orb
3) intuitive insight (6:26)
4) God as the domain of infintite consiousness the way Jhanananda describes it (7:10)
5) demonization from established religion (9:18)
This is not surprising, but still nice. Maybe we could have an outreach program so that guys like him who are less prone to sceptical doubt can learn that he can learn to go there again, while still here.

well, if the people who have these experiences are meant to have them again, they will likely somehow make their way here. otherwise, i do not think that outreach is really what is needed. we wouldn't want to provoke a surge of militant james randi-esque skeptics (and I love james randi) - to get the GWV in their sights, as their new obsession.

I am only in Flagstaff for a few hours to do some internet work and get groceries. I spent far too much time just tracking down a useable WIFI connection, so this will have to be short.
Thank-you, mapeli, for posting the video. Yes, the NDE is quite a bit like an OOBE, and they are both like deep meditation experiences. Yes, aglorincz, the GWV has been under attack by fundamentalists, and atheists for more than a decade. However, I agree with mapeli, there should always be outreach to connect with those who have glimpses and need guidance. Doing so might just build a community of mystics, and build a foundation of understanding among the mainstream.
