J,

I began walking and sitting meditation at Wat Buddhametta in Tucson.  Other than that, I am now very contemplative of my speed of movement and thought (instead of practicing patience I practice slowness).  The other practice is being gentle to myself in word and thought.

If you were me.., where and with whom would you go to study Buddhism here in Tucson other than Wat Buddhametta?

Thank you again for your lending your expertise.

Joshua

Hello Joshua, I practiced meditation and let sits in Tucson for about 40 years, so I know the contemplative community in Tucson quite well, and sadly, I cannot recommend any contemplative community, or their instruction.  However, one can just sit in meditation with any group.  I started a daily meditation group at the University of Arizona, while I was studying there.  It was at the Little Chapel of All Nations.  Their chapel is open 5 days a week from 8AM to 5PM, so it is a nice place to sit in meditation during the day.

As for instruction, I expect to be in Tucson sometime this month.  So, we could connect there and I would be more than happy to give some instruction and even sit in meditation with you, if you are interested.

Do keep an eye on my whereabouts for the next few weeks.  I plan to leave Prescott, AZ by the end of next week and head to the Colorado River Communities to pickup three solar panels I left behind there, and take care of a few other things.  I expect to be there about a week, so that should put me in Tucson in the last week of February.  I expect to be in Tucson until it gets hot there, so maybe April or May.

Between Spring and Summer I plan to head to Silver City, NM to help organize a wilderness meditation retreat for advanced contemplatives.  You would be welcome to join us, if you are interested.
