Please note I split this discussion off and started this thread on heavy metal detox in the subsection of this forum on Health and Fitness.
I am sorry if I was too detailed on my response to Tad. I am still learning what the right things to talk about on this forum are. I have had both positive and negative effects from Mercury forumlas. For me it has been a double edged sword, but that may be a different conversation. I can see why they tried it on Syphilis in the 1800s.
For me I notice great benefits doing heavy metal detox, as best as possible, as far as the issue I detailed in the beginning of this post. Anyone who feels 'targeted' at all I highly recommend a heavy metal detox as well as an air purifier. I get the best results with chlorella tablets personally, and some other super greens. I've also experimented with distilled water and felt better.
Other suggestions for heavy metal detox anyone?

It is not about what is tolerated on this forum, and more about preventing harm. While I have studied the history of ethnomedicine, so I am aware of the use of mercury as medicine, but we should use the story of the first emperor of China (thanks Alexander for the details) as instructive in the use of mercury as medicine results in heavy metal poisoning.
While we are discussing ethnomedicine the earliest reference to a panacea was in the Epic of Gilgamesh where he searched the world for a panacea and found seaweed he identified as a panacea, not mercury.
And, while we are discussing ethnomedicine we should also consider examining medical fraud. There is a famous Chinese herbalist who had the reputation of being 250 years old. He even had an imperial decree with his name on it. In the 1930 he was photographed, he disappeared after that, and then his last wife reported his death. It is my hypothesis that the family, who operated an herbal pharmacy for centuries had been secretly replacing the dead grandfather with his oldest son for centuries until that photograph was taken. They realized the jig was up for their multi-century fraud, and stopped the deception.
I attempted to get a heavy metal panel done from my doctor several years back but he was evasive about assigning one to me, being that he is a general praticioner and I have free medical service. He told me it was not standard and would have cost him extra unfortunately. I would definitely like to get a Mercury panel done to see what my levels are.
I have been interested in getting a heavy metals panel, not just mercury, but I am aware that it is not normal medical practice even though I think it should be. You may want to look around for a branch of medicine that specializes in dealing with heavy metals, then give you a referral to that doctor. This is how we on socialized medicine work the system.
As for detoxing, this has been a subject of discussion in natural healing since the 70s, when many of us consumed detox drinks that we made with blenders. The most common formula was to make a fruit smoothie with a banana, fruit juice and a table spoon full of diatomaceous earth. I made this drink every morning for decades; however, since I have never had a heavy metals panel I do not know if it worked.
