Hi Tad, thanks for taking an interest in my training, I continue to experience new blessings through Kali and I am still on a full time retreat. Kali has asked me to continue until Fall/Winter if possible before getting a job.
The way that I organize my chanting is primarily with the use of a rosary, my mantra is just the name of the protection form of Kali that I work with (Baglamukhi) which is two syllables. The rosary has 108 beads. I chant in a cadence so that I do 20 names per bead which gets me 2160 names per rosary (which I count as 2000). I have a daily quota that I try to achieve in chants. For example today is 44 rosaries or around 88,000 names. Tomorrow is a rest day/half day for me so I have a quota of 16 rosaries set.
I don't get a lot of tension usually but if I do too many hours I have lost my voice before, like an opera singer, or my voice became raspy. Yes extreme hours does cause fatigue but I've found a balancing point. I cut down my total chanting 20% from what I was doing when I left my job in 2022.
