Good to know, Michel, that you are working the N8P diligently.  There is; however, a way to jump to the head of the class, and get certified/ordained within the GWV.  Master stilling your mind, which is the second jhana, and I believe all of the present certified and/or ordained teachers of the GWV will accept anyone with that qualification.

I'm catching up on all the information again. I happen to have been pursued by 4 people in regards to teaching samadhi in the last month, and so this thread caught my eye. I've learned to throttle such encounters in which teaching samadhi is a very real prospect. I mean that I only give them a page of the book at a time, making sure to end with the most captivating information related to their questions. It's working better than previous encounters.

Where am I, technically, in the GWV perspective? Am I just a student, or ordained or a teacher? I think it's important to keep the ball rolling with these things.

At one point it was just the Buddha walking down a path, being laughed at when he informed a passerby that he was enlightened. I sure would like to witness that moment in time with what I know now.

It is excellent, Jhanon, that you are interested in becoming a certified GWV meditation teacher.  You are well on your way to becoming certified.  What we hope for in our meditation teachers:

1] Someone who meditates every day.
2] Someone who is familiar with the dhamma, having read through the suttas, and more importantly knows the key suttas well enough to speak extemporaneously about them.
3] Someone who has consistent access to the various stages of the religious experience (samadhi); and preferably stage 2 every day.
4] Someone who is familiar with the GWV website, and in particular the section on the Fruit of the Contemplative Life.
5] Someone who is skilled at interpreting a person's meditation/religious experiences within the context of the Fruit of the Contemplative Life.
6] Someone who attends at least one 10-day GWV meditation retreat.
7] Someone who leads a local meditation group that meets at least once a week.
8] Someone who leads a rigorous, sober, self-aware contemplative life.

There might be other things that I missed, so please help me out.

Hello,  I am new here.  It has taken me 63 years to get here.  I am still on the road.  How do I get where I think I may want to be with ordination?

Welcome, buddhomind, to the FCL. For ordination and certification one will need to: Participate, study, meditate, practice, and cooperate.
