I have friends who do this. Sometimes they settle down somewhere for a little while. If I had no children, and my partner was into this--I would be thrilled.

I'd pursue such a lifestyle if I were young and healthy. Maybe in the next life if that option is possible.

Perhaps one could support themselves by teaching music and playing gigs; or sell artwork; or sell used things on the flee market circuit, etc. Also one could teach meditation and teach dhamma but that would be free or perhaps by donation. There are all sorts of things that one could do to support themselves.

Yes, in the community of wanderers that I move in there are quite a few who travel to jobs, stay in an RV, van, or camper, then move on when the short term job is over.  Some of them augment their income with playing music gigs, or doing healing.  In fact very early on in my mendicant life in 1976 I wandered around the southwest doing healing work and consulting, living in a 1966 Plymouth Valiant Station wagon.  It looked like hte following, even same color, except a station wagon.
There is no progress without discipline.
