Thiaoouba
« on: October 31, 2015, 07:53:18 AM »
"Thiaoouba" is pronounced as Yehova. This comes from the accounts of a person named Michel Desmarquet who was taken on a journey by extra-terrestrials to a planet called Thiaoouba.

Usually, I would simply treat it as something New-Age and mere fiction. The origin of the book itself sounds 'fantastic'. However, there were a few things that just stood out from the rest, and it was indicative of a deep meditation practice. In fact, it got me to reconsider my decision and see if it matched up logically. I decided to just put it in this subforum so that the more experienced practitioners can also scrutinize its contents.

  • Firstly, the book was not for sale, and there was no monetary return for it. It was freely offered as an ebook. Therefore, it does not have a monetary motive.
  • Secondly, there is no "guru-like" following, neither is a religion established. In fact, it is encouraged that each individual look within his own self to find the answer. Therefore it could not have been written for pride.
  • Thirdly, the meditation technique talked about in the book highly corresponded to what we did here, although we call it different names. He talked about placing attention on the "inner sound" to its highest intensity and frequency, which later allows "inner light" in the form of through a "tunnel" to appear, allowing one to merge with the Higher Self.
  • Fourthly, I found a huge parallel to the Four Noble Truths in one of his books, even though it was not directly mentioned.
  • Fifth, it claimed that religions were a perversion/corruption/misinterpretation of the truths that many religions spoke of, and that they were manipulated and corrupted by people using religion for political reasons.

Fruits he attained/his practice (from his site/books):

  • Recall of manifold lifetimes, in the book, it was recorded that he recalled at least 81 of them.
  • Merging with the infinite/yoga, as a result of dedicated practice (a few hours everyday)
  • Astral body/out of body experience
  • Beings from other planets
  • His practice of attending to the auditory charism and riding it past the luminous sphere
  • Getting rid of addictions, including compounds within food
  • Advocates against drug use

Several "strange" points his books raised, which I cannot verify, but cannot just accept simply because the others match up:

  • Any claims of supernatural powers were attributed towards a knowledge of scientific technology of the Thaori, such as parting the waters that Moses did.
  • The book claimed that the virgin Mary was implanted with an embryo, allowing an inhabitant of Thiaoouba, Jesus, to be rebirthed within.
  • Even so, Jesus was marginalized and crucified.
  • Many of his teachings were lost and not recorded, because he had to contend with speaking in parables for the people who could not understand what he was saying.
  • There is an astral body (composed of electrons), as well as a astropsychic body.
  • Many other planets had civilizations wiped out because of mutual destruction from atomic warfare, planetary collisions or disease.
  • The Higher-self of man sends 1/9th of itself into a human body as an Astral being. This higher-self is in turn, a ninth part of a more superior high-self, continuing as far back into the source. The astral body transfers to the higher-self all sensations experienced in the physical life, which tend pass into the etheric "ocean" that surrounds the Spirit
  • The body is a cause of much suffering, and when one abandons it, he is catapulted down a 'psychic canal', where there is a wondrous light and state of bliss.
  • Earth is called a 'planet of Sorrows' and considered the bottom of the scale in nine categories of planets
  • The purpose of pyramids was to capture cosmic rays, serve the King as a communication center through astral travel and make rain.
  • Thiaoouba/Yehova is described to be a planet that is far away from our Solar system, a home to spiritually-advanced beings that have mastered all the fruits of highest cultivation.

And some quotes:

Quote
The Light is no less than the essence of the Universe, simply because it is a source and a carrier of all imaginable information. Hence, whoever chooses to disregard The Light - is bound to miss everything...

A genuine Conscious contact with The Light actually changes our lives irreversibly, simply because Understanding cannot be "undone". Enlightened person may seem to chop wood and carry water as everyone else, but he/she does it for very different reasons... Unfortunately no one can stop narrow-minded people who never reached The Light from making misleading statements about Enlightenment...

3. Virtually all gurus demand and expect a total "surrender" from their followers. As a brutal violation of The Freedom of Choice and The Freedom of Thought, such a demand is an act against development of Consciousness and The Purpose of the Universe.

A site dedicated to it here, if you are curious. Also, do note that the site is not from Michel, only the books are. And the writer on the site is Tom Chalko, who is a different person.

-------

Well, I don't necessarily have to agree with all of those in the last section, as if I work hard enough and become lucid, I should be able to see them in my own experience instead. But here's the real purpose of the post, I just wanted to clarify this insight.

I was thinking about this point he raised: He said that everything boils down to your freedom of choice. However, there are consequences for any choice that is made.

I then thought... Would there not be two kinds of choices? Conscious choice and unconscious choice.

So if we were bound by neuroses, addictions, habits, compulsions and attachments, we would definitely be classified in a form of 'unconscious choice'. We may be forced, as if we were moving down a water current on a drifting log. And it is only removal of these patterns that allows us to exercise conscious, informed choice. Am I thinking on the right path here? I would love some guidance.

Very interesting, bodhimind, and thank-you for introducing us to Michel Desmarquet and his Thiaoouba Prophecy.  Since he pronounces "Thiaoouba" as "Yehova" we can see a clear connection to the biblical term for god YAHWEH.  The fact that he invokes the concept of alien abduction, verses the OOBE, I find his work tainted.  I would prefer to see him recognize that he had an OOBE, if he did.

Usually, I would simply treat it as something New-Age and mere fiction. The origin of the book itself sounds 'fantastic'. However, there were a few things that just stood out from the rest, and it was indicative of a deep meditation practice. It indeed does sound like he was influenced by Sant Mat, and possibly some Buddhism and yoga; however, I will have to reject his claim that he was abducted by space aliens.

Fruits he attained/his practice (from his site/books):

  • Recall of manifold lifetimes, in the book, it was recorded that he recalled at least 81 of them.

This is a clear reference to the Pali canon; however, Hinduism certainly has references to reincarnation, and its recollection.

  • Merging with the infinite/yoga, as a result of dedicated practice (a few hours everyday)

This is certainly yoga, Hindu and possibly Sant Mat terminology.  Good to know that he subscribed to a dedicated practice of hours of meditation everyday.

  • Astral body/out of body experience

I am not sure where this would come, but possibly from Sant Mat or Theosophy.

  • Beings from other planets

This sounds very New-Age.

  • His practice of attending to the auditory charism and riding it past the luminous sphere

This is probably under the influence of Sant Mat.

  • Getting rid of addictions, including compounds within food

This sounds interesting.  What compounds within foods did he consider an addiction?

  • Advocates against drug use

This will fit pretty much any religious movement.

Several "strange" points his books raised, which I cannot verify, but cannot just accept simply because the others match up:

Sadly most of this does not ring true for me.

These are reasonable.

Your assessment sounds good, and there are certainly some good things in this site that definitely parallel some of what we say here.  I do not happen to agree that there is a difference between conscious and subconscious choices, because to me they result in the same problems.

Thank you for the clarification on his work. It certainly sounds more probable that he had an OOBE, instead of an alien abduction.

Throughout the book however, he talked about how the aliens made sure that his physical body could adapt to the planet's conditions through certain technology. Perhaps, it might either be fake or simply part of the OBE itself.

It indeed does sound like he was influenced by Sant Mat, and possibly some Buddhism and yoga; however, I will have to reject his claim that he was abducted by space aliens.
I found the claim incredulous as well, but wondered about his practice, since it does indicate some form of deep meditation.

That makes a lot of sense. Perhaps it lies in the understanding of how choices lead to effects instead, and choosing the correct choices to lead towards a better outcome? Because otherwise it would not seem to make sense to be mindful of one's speech/thoughts/actions? Or are they simply for the purpose of detachment from the five aggregates?

Mindfulness of one's speech/thoughts/actions is arguably connected to detachment from the five aggregates, because the Four Noble Truths are the central premise of Siddhartha Gautama, which is all about avoiding craving and covetousness.  However, we should also keep in mind that Mindfulness of one's speech/thoughts/actions is also stated in the suttas to be also about avoiding harmful speech/thought/action.
