These are by me, getting the feet wet

What kind of tools did you use foe making these? What us the meaning of the last one?

These are digital paintings made on a tablet. The last one is Jean Valjean from Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. He is carrying the fallen French tricolor there - symbol of the revolution and its idealism - but it has a clear double meaning where it is also a Christian cross.
