Orpheus and Eurydice

In Greek mythology, Orpheus and Eurydice are two lovers who are tragically separated. The cause of this changes with the version of the myth. In the main narrative, Eurydice dies unexpectedly and descends into the underworld.

Filled with grief, Orpheus descends into hell in pursuit of his spouse. A musician, he plays his song of grief to those he encounters, enchanting everyone, including Persephone and the hard-hearted Hades.

Moved to compassion, Hades agrees Orpheus can retrieve his wife from the underworld. However, there is one condition: Orpheus must walk the whole way to surface (with her following behind) without looking back to see her.

They ascend the circles; pass the Stygian river; the shades of the damned. Orpheus ascends in darkness. Because Eurydice is a shade, she makes no footsteps, she makes no noise. He can hear no one behind him.

He begins to think: Did Hades trick him? Is it all a cruel game?

They make it nearly to the opening to the underworld. But, right before Orpheus reaches the surface (and the sun), doubt overcomes him. He looks back to see his spouse. She has been there the whole time. But the minute he sees her she disappears, trapped forever in Hades.

It is a mysterious tale. Filled with symbolism & allegory.

A few lines of wisdom on this Mystery

Quote
Orpheus and Eurydice
1 When Orpheus leads Eurydice out of hell, the only rule is Orpheus can’t turn around until she’s out.
2 Hades said, “You can free one person from the underworld. Only one. But, you must walk the whole way to the surface without looking back to see if she’s coming with you.”
3 Hades said to Eurydice, “You must earn your immortality. It is not given for free.”
4 The tale of Orpheus explains how a male arahant initiates a female one.
5 What does it mean “Orpheus can’t turn around”? It means Orpheus must speak the whole time from the perspective of Being and never once re-descend into selfhood.
6 Orpheus said, “I went all the way but Eurydice wasn’t following me.”
7 Orpheus reached the top, then finally turned around. Eurydice wasn’t there. A Divine tragedy.
8 They said the Tragedy made Orpheus even more beautiful.
9 It’s called a mystery because you can’t comprehend it.
10 If Eurydice follows, she goes through the dark night of the soul.
11 Orpheus said, “Well, I have to find a new spouse. At least I don’t have to go through all that again.”

But this Mystery allows you to bring 1 person with you right as you achieve self-realization

I hope with these lines some Future person will be able to achieve the Result. It would be beautiful to see. A real life Adam & Eve :)

The world? A prison you can’t escape. A slavery you can’t see. Except through Mystery.
