Thank you, Alexander, for posting an interesting discussion on Greek philosophy. What I get out of the definition of intuition, or "nous" in Greek is this definition parallels the definition of insight (vipassana in /Pali/sanskrit).
While Plato's writing regarding Socrates suggests Socrates frequently went into a trance, which I interpret as a stage of samadhi; however, we see nothing in the writing regarding Socrates that suggests that he had any contemplative practice strategy, such as meditation. None appears in the rest of the Greek philosophers, even though the etymology of the Sanskrit terms 'kriya,' 'kasina' and 'kundalini' strongly suggest Greek origins, or possibly originating with the culture the Greek language came from, which is a bit of a mystery, but suggests central Asia, Mesopotamia as its origin.
