New content?

Hello, Jhananda.

While browsing your site devoted to the Great Western Vehicle I found that almost all articles were written 2004, 2005 or 2006 latest, as was the event schedule. I also found at least one dead link.

I am pleasantly surprised there's a forum here and that it contains recent posts.

What is your attitude towards your older articles - would you think they need updating in any way?

Kind regards,
Oliver

Hello Oliver, and welcome to the Fruit of the Contemplative Life.  I suppose some of that material could be updated, but then it is way beyond anything published in Buddhism in 21 centuries, and so far beyond the curve that I have been marginalized by just about every Buddhist priest and organization on the planet.  So, what is the use in updating it, when almost no one meditates deeply?

The samadhi chart is one of the more useful older things on the site. I remember I came across it in 2007, though I wasn't able to make use of it then. Only when you start to get a foundation, and experience the first 2-3 jhanas, do you start to make use of such things.

Thanks, aglorincz, I am glad that you found the samadhi chart useful.  I created it, because there were other samadhi charts coming out, which did not seem to be particularly accurate, so I made my own. I am glad it worked for you.  I agree that until one begins to meditate deeply all of the content that I have constructed seems meaningless.  Since few take advantage of my content, then we can conclude few meditate deeply.
