I have been meaning to look closer at what is meant in the Bible and Gospels regarding Casting Out "Demons" "shedim (Hebrew)," "devil" "Hasatan (Hebrew)," "Unclean Spirits" "ruach hatameh (Hebrew),"  "evil spirits" "ruchot ra’ot (Hebrew)." From closely reading the Bible and Gospels it appears that these terms in some cases referred to physical ailments, and other time they referred to mental illnesses.  In some cases there is a suggestion that the mystic was giving the subject a religious context for a religious experience that was misinterpreted as a case of demon possession.
