Compost for heat
« on: March 02, 2014, 01:00:13 PM »
The Compost-Powered Water Heater: How to heat your greenhouse, pool, or buildings with only compost! Paperback – May 5, 2014

I met a rich woman almost 20 years ago who told me that on her family's New England dairy farm they heated whole buildings with compost, let alone made hot water with it.  Dairy farms make mountains of compost, so coming up with a use for it is important to them.

The danger I saw in heating buildings with compost, was compost makes methane gas, which is poisonous, so a building that is heated directly with compost could end up killing people.  So, the building would have to be well vented.

Thanks, Sam, for the link.  2 cows = 45 days of methane gas delivery per day plus good fertilizer.

The video I posted is for you to have some idea, so that you can heat your house or room in a cheap way.
I've got another video which might be more suitable.
