Interactive Guidance
« on: October 28, 2014, 07:48:11 PM »
One of the ideas I've been bouncing around in this brain of mine is an interactive form of Dhamma chart. Maybe something in a powerpoint format. Some of the points I would like to emphasize on is Death, and the study of. Alot of us, im finding, who have found Jhana, have had some deal of contemplation of death. The contemplation really leads to the understanding needed, yet I want to go more in depth, yet in an enticing way to really get the full attention of the participant. This is both the bane and the key to what I'd like to accomplish, as most will view it as grim and un-inviting. However, I do not believe that it is possible to find Jhana if one hasnt contemplated the true suffering of Life.

The Dhamma chart would include succinct synopsis of corresponding points. Some first hand, deep insight. I'd like it to be tailored more towards the N8P and the direction one should follow to find Jhana. To open the participant up to the "exploration" of deep meditation states, without any of the flashy things that come after. I think the forum is the perfect avenue, in this regard, once one has found Jhana.

Any ideas? Objections? Once I get the go ahead, Ill put up a rough draft for input. (Dont know how I can attach a larger file, though.)

Thank GWV.

This is a good point.  I certainly spent a great deal of time reflecting upon death, which brought me to the contemplative life.  So, perhaps it is common for those with attainment of the superior fruit.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

You should be able to attach a file to any message posted here.  It is the + icon below the response window.

If you're inspired, then by all means, DO IT. Let it flow. Let it all flow onto a piece of paper first, if you have to. We can polish it to your intent afterward. Every inspired undertaking is a piece of something greater being put together by the sangha. I feel that we all have something unique to contribute, and that doing so is one of the greatest contributions we can make to humanity.

But, seriously. You remember we've talked about this a lot. About how inspiration flows. It's just got to be recorded, and we can do the rest later. Put it down raw, and then give me or us a chance to help it reach your goal.
