Cleaned Up GWV Dharma Talks
« on: February 02, 2015, 04:54:52 AM »
Since I have had a bit of audio-cleaning experience and wanted to listen to some of the talks while on the bus, I realized that the background buzzing sound (from the wind noise) can tend to overwhelm the speaker. This is why I thought I could help out with some "cleaned up" audios. I will update this whenever I have converted another. Hopefully this helps out people.

I'm unfortunate not that good to be able to remove the clicking sounds caused by the wind, only the wind noise, but the sound has become a lot more clearer. If you reduce the sound volume to an appropriate level, the wind noise should become nearly inaudible.

You can listen to it online as well, using the "Music Player for Google Drive" function.

The source is here: http://www.greatwesternvehicle.org/dhammatalks/index.htm

May 23, 2006, evening Introduction and a description of the first three stages of meditative absorption (jhana/samadhi), the language of gnosis. Understand vitakka and vicára. Grip on the meditation subject using the dancing and riding metaphors. (Download cleaned up version).

Note: I do not know if Jhanananda would want this, so please let me know. I can take it down any time since I've hosted it on google drive.

- will be updating when I convert the rest! -

Thank-you ever so much for your kind work, bodhimind.  I had been planning on acquiring some audio editing software to make the necessary repairs to these audio files, but I never seemed to have the money or priority to acquire that software.  I will upload the repaired files as you make them available to us.

You're very welcome. Glad to help out. It might take a while to process all 14 of them, but I'll definitely get it done.

Thank-you again, bodhimind, for your help in cleaning up the recording.  I just listened to it and it is better.  The periodic noise was actually the hard drive heads on the laptop that used for recording.
