SOMNAMBULISTIC STATE
« on: December 09, 2019, 01:59:02 AM »
Lately I have been attending a weekly meeting of people here in Presott, AZ who are interested in the Near Death Experience (NDE).  I joined the meeting, because I have found the NDE is the same as an OOBE.

The last time I was there they played a YouTube video of a woman who reported that after a long drive, when she had a profound altered state of consciousness, which appeared to be an OOBE, which took here to the third level of the spiritual dimension; while she was still driving.  This would have been a somnambulistic state, which is described below.

where a person will, walk, talk or do complex actions while asleep. If we see it historically, it refers to a hypnotic phase in which the individual in a deep Trance may appear to be awake and in control of his or her actions.

I have been pondering the night that the first alien abduction was reported/ The first alleged alien abduction claim to be widely publicized was the Betty and Barney Hill abduction in 1961.  It is more reasonable to me that the people who report an experience of alien abduction are most likely having an OOBE experience, but since they may not have an intellectual context for one, so they attempt to explain the experience as an alien abduction.

alien abduction
The terms alien abduction or abduction phenomenon describe "subjectively real experiences" of being secretly kidnapped by nonhuman figures (aliens) and subjected to physical and psychological experimentation.[1] Most scientists and mental health professionals explain these experiences by factors such as suggestibility (e.g. false memory syndrome), sleep paralysis, deception, and psychopathology.[2] Skeptic Robert Sheaffer sees similarity between the aliens depicted in science fiction films, in particular Invaders From Mars (1953), and some of those reported to have actually abducted people.
