What is this intelligence?
« on: March 28, 2014, 10:29:46 PM »
Jeffrey and friends, what is this intelligence? Is it possible to say? At times I find it mind boggling to contemplate what this is, why is it here, what on earth is this all about? Why is this happening rather than not happening? What happens when this stops happening?

Is happening also what we would call becoming, which ceases as we move deeper into absorption of this? I wonder at times if I am not already dead, in a dream, or a trance state from which I can not awake. By this I mean everything that we experience, what is going on here? It's almost like everything is some kind of 'alien', an infinite intelligence, which continuously transforms and manifests through endless forms.

Do you believe in a reality independent of our experience (anyone reading this), and do you experience it as such, or how do you experience it day to day?

If asked I would say I don't know, and I dont think it is possible to say; and yet, I know what this presence is through experience, and it appears like everything we experience is a manifestation of this consciousness, spirit, mind, energy, intelligence, what ever we want to call it. It also seems nonsensical, without purpose or meaning, which would seem liberating if really grasped as such. I sometimes want to interrupt a conversation that I am having with someone, and just ask, 'what are we doing here, what's going on, what is this all about?' And then just walk away, wander, drift, forget about who I am, and be completely at peace with that.

Good to hear from you, william, interesting questions that you ponder.  I see this as evidence that layers of the self are falling away.  We can not be sure at anytime what reality is. or even what space/time domain we are in, or will be next.  As contemplatives we can only be self-aware, and still the mind, regardless of the many space/time domains we tumble through, especially when we begin to explore the immaterial domains.
There is no progress without discipline.
